Qualcomm’s first set of Wear OS watch chips this year: Snapdragon Wear 4100 series

Today Qualcomm announced its next-generation chipset for Wear OS, the Snapdragon Wear 4100 and 4100+, which is expected to bring meaningful performance improvements to smart watches.
The Snapdragon Wear 4100 first reduced the main process size from 28nm to 12nm. Qualcomm said that this will make “the speed of the new processor greatly improved”, and battery life extended by 25%, LPDDR3 memory speed is faster. Thanks to the use of a 1.7GHz quad-core A53 processor, performance has increased by 85%, and with Adreno 504 GPU, the speed has increased by 2.5 times. Supports up to 16 megapixel cameras, while touting low-power 4G LTE modem.
Snapdragon Wear 4100+ has an updated QCC1110 coprocessor that can handle more tasks. This means that sleep tracking and heart rate tracking will use this chip instead of the main CPU.
At the same time, “watch mode” now supports up to 64,000 colors, battery indicator, alarm, reminder and tactile, and Qualcomm calls it “faster tilt wake response”.
In addition to Wear OS, Snapdragon Wear 4100 also supports Android Open Source Platform (AOSP).
Devices equipped with Snapdragon Wear 4100 are expected to appear soon.
